Couples Therapy
Strong relationships are built, not born

Couples Therapy does not mean that your relationship is broken —
It means that you care enough to invest in it.
Our Couples Therapists
The Gottman Method:
Couples Therapy backed by Science
Struggling with communication, trust, or feeling distant from your partner?
You’re not alone — and there’s a proven path forward.
Here at Home Psychology, we use the Gottman Method for couples therapy, a practical and research-based approach developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman after over 40 years of studying what makes relationships work — and what breaks them down.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, arguing too much, or simply want to strengthen your connection, the Gottman Method helps you rebuild your relationship with tools that work in real life.
Step 1: Understanding Your Relationship
We start with a thorough assessment so we understand what’s happening — and how to help:
A joint session to hear your story as a couple
One-on-one sessions with each partner
An online questionnaire (the Gottman Relationship Checkup) to identify strengths and challenges
This gives us a clear picture of your relationship and helps us create a personalized plan for therapy.
Step 2: Learning Tools That Last
The heart of the Gottman Method is learning how to:
Communicate better (even during tough conversations)
Manage conflict without escalating
Repair past hurts and build trust again
Strengthen your friendship and emotional bond
Support each other’s goals and dreams
You’ll learn practical skills you can use every day — not just in therapy.
Step 3: Practice and Progress
Each session builds on the last. You’ll try out new tools in session and get simple exercises to use at home.
You’ll leave therapy with:
A stronger emotional connection
Healthier ways to navigate disagreements
Deeper understanding of each other
A roadmap for continuing to grow together
Why It Works
The Gottman Method isn’t just theory — it’s based on decades of research with real couples. It’s helped thousands of partners reconnect, rebuild trust, and feel closer again.
