Frequently   asked   questions

  • During your initial appointment, you can expect a warm and supportive environment where you can freely express your thoughts and concerns. The session will begin with introductions, allowing you to meet your clinician. Together, you will engage in an intake session, where your psychologist or speech pathologist will ask questions to gain a better understanding of you or your child’s needs. This information will help in setting specific goals for therapy. They will address any questions or concerns you may have and explain the boundaries of confidentiality and ethical guidelines. Your first session is an opportunity to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship and collaboratively embark on your journey towards personal growth and well-being.
If the therapist is working with your child, the first session requires a parent / caregiver and the child to be present to gather background information and determine the goals of therapy.
